This skeleton is the oldest human remains discovered in Egypt and the second worldwide; “Nazlet khater skeleton”, Displayed now at National Museum of Egyptian Civilization…..
This skeleton was found buried near nazlet khater- Sohag governrate, it is for young man who lived 35 years ago and it appears from his skeleton that he had enjoyed a distinguished height and a strong body.
It has been in Belgium since 1980 after its excavation by a team of archaeologists from university of Leuven in Belgium but Egypt had repatriated the skeleton from Belgium through diplomatic efforts and now it is displayed at NMEC.
In the same showcase at NMEC Museum next to him collection of stone tools; the ancient Egyptian made stone tools of flint stone about two million years ago to facilitate their way of living.
